Abstract
MotorSolve is a modern electric motor design software package which combines classical design techniques for initial sizing, with automated numerical simulations for accurate performance prediction (plus reliable inclusion of material saturation effects), including an easy-to-use and intuitive user interface. It offers a powerful geometry engine and windings editor, a simple results-driven post-processor and the capability to manage, compare and analyse multiple designs and generate reports with any combination of the dozens of graphs, values, plots and data that are available. An overview of the system is presented, and how it is used as a design tool for motor designers.
