Hitachi ABB launch two new traction transformers
Hitachi ABB Power Grids has introduced two new traction transformers, the RESIBLOC® CRail 25 kV and the Natural Cooling Effilight® Traction Transformer. Natural Cooling Effilight® Traction Transformer (NCETT) replaces the traditional fan-based cooling system with natural and sustainable alternative – natural airflow of the train’s motion.
Nissan announces major UK electric car expansion
Nissan has announced a major expansion of electric vehicle production at its car plant in Sunderland which will create 1,650 new jobs.The Japanese carmaker will build its new-generation all-electric model at the site as part of a £1bn investment that will also support thousands of jobs in the supply chain.
UK to set accessibility standards for EV charging
UK Transport Minister Rachel Maclean has announced that the government and charity sector will be coming together to set accessibility standards for charging points in the UK. The aim is to provide the industry with guidance on how to make individual charge points more accessible by Summer 2022.

Marelli receives award for investment in new Electric Powertrain plant in Cologne
Marelli, a leading global automotive supplier, has received the NRW Global Business Award 2021 for the investment in its recently established production facility for electric vehicle motors in Cologne, Germany. With this award, the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia recognizes foreign direct investments which significantly advance the region’s long-term global competitiveness as well as international investments of local companies. Marelli is one out of four companies to receive the prize this year.
