Deia Bayoumi is a 2000 graduate of Kansas State University with a MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He further went on to earn an MBA from DeSales University in 2008, a Professional Engineer license from Ohio’s Engineers and Surveyors Board in 2001, and an Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management from MIT Sloan Management in 2007.
Currently working for ABB as the Head of Global Product Management for Distribution Transformers, Deia is responsible for managing an estimated $1B USD product portfolio. Prior to his current position, Deia held several progressive leadership positions at ABB such as Vice President Technology and Engineering for their HVDC North America business and Vice President and General Manager for their Substation Automation Business.
Deia’s awards include an IEEE Senior Member, ABB Inc. Inventor of the Year two years in a row, three US issued patents, and over 22 patent applications worldwide.
Additionally, Deia has co-authored a number of publications in various industry magazines and conferences. Deia has a passion for developing the next generation of talent and is heavily involved in both global and local mentoring programs, serving as a mentor.
Deia, his wife, Heba, and two children, Magd and Shadwa, live in Cary, NC where they enjoy the culinary arts and participating in community service.
